Joyful and Authentic Learning | Interview With Sarah Wilson

“SelfDesign let me see the truth . . . it let me see into the true nature of reality – how things actually are – and because of that it has helped me see how I actually am,  and how I want to be,  rather than the expectations that others placed on me. “

Sarah Wilson, SDGI learner, chats with Renee Poindexter about how she designed her own Masters degree with SelfDesign Graduate Institute. Sarah Wilson is in her second year with SelfDesign Graduate Institute, she is 24 and lives in Vermont, USA.

” I went to my normal public school and never felt like I fit in, I never felt like I was really learning, information would go in one year and out the other and it just didn’t feel like the right fit for me. I knew I was smarter than the people around me were telling me I was. I also knew that I was passionate and interested in other subjects that weren’t available in the public school curriculum.”

What is your favourite thing about SelfDesign Graduate Institute?

“It is so refreshing to be around people who are open minded, open hearted, actually think holistically, and are committed to helping people discover for themselves what they are passionate about, rather than a top down approach.”

How does your experience with SelfDesign Graduate Institute relate to who you are, and where you are going in your life?

“Before I started the program, I had a destination in mind of what I thought I wanted, but now I realize I want to be so much more than that, because now I am able to see living my life in a non linear way.”

“SelfDesign let me see the truth . . . it let me see into the true nature of reality, how things actually are and because of that it has helped me see how I actually am and how I want to be, rather than the expectations that others placed on me. ”

“I never knew how joyful learning could be, how passionate you could be about your education!”
